How to Remove Shortcut Virus Permanently from Computer.

Once we recover files into USB drive we can use them but if we again plug-in USB Flash drive into the infected computer our flash drive will infect, so it is better to remove the source of this virus, follow the steps below to remove shortcut virus manually from the computer.

01. Open Task Manager.

02. Click the Process tab & Find the process Wscript.exe, Scroll down, & find any such process, Now Right Click on it and click on End Task.

03. Go to Start and search for “Regedit“, Open it!

HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Run

Find the Registry Keys “WXCKYz“, ” ZGFYszaas” “OUzzckky” “odwcamszas” if you find any of them then right-click on it & delete this registry key.

If you do not find the exact registry key then look for similar registry keys & search them on google to know what they do.

This method will remove the Shortcut Virus from the computer, if not then try these steps.

01. Press the Windows + R key,

02. Run box, Type %temp% & Click OK, now the temp folder will be open look for file “nkvasyoxww.vbs” WXCKYz.vbs“, ” GFYszaas.vbs” “OUzzckky.vbs” & delete it.

03. Go to C:UsersusernameAppDataRoamingMicrosoftWindowsStart MenuProgramsStartup. 

04. Check Startup folder if “nkvasyoxww.vbs” & other similar .vbs files exist here then delete them.

05. Press Windows + R key, type “msconfing”.

06. Go to the Startup tab, & look for nkvasyoxww.vbs and other similar .vbs files uncheck them from startup & Click OK.

There may be a different name for the “VBS” file, just Check you do not have any file with an unusual name & VBS extension at the startup, registry, & temp folder.
