How to Turn off Background Running Apps in Windows 10




Windows 10, many programs you download from the Microsoft Store will continue
to run in the background to take advantage of extra features, such as the

which applications are allowed to operate in the background.

To disable applications from running in the background, use these steps:

03. Click on Background apps.


04. Under the “select which program can run in the background” section, turn
off the toggle switch.



Alternatively, under the “Background programs”, you can turn off the Let
applications in the background toggle switch to prevent an app from running in
the background.


Once you’ve completed the steps, you can still use the applications usually,
but when you close them, all the processes will be closed until you launch the
application again.



How to stop background applications using System settings.


While the feature will enable automatically as the battery life drops below
20%, you can enable the mode manually at any time using these steps:

04. Under the “Battery saver”, turn off the Battery saver status until the

the background.
